Hey everyone!
Today was the start of my 2024 Spring Break mission trip—600 miles from Chapel Hill to Orlando, Florida, for our mission trip with UNTO / Cru City IIR. The theme of the trip was “Becoming People of Welcome,” and we’re all about diving into this new experience. The drive was long but filled with good vibes and lots of anticipation for what’s ahead. We’re here to learn, help, and hopefully, make a difference. And the warm Florida welcome started a bit early for us!
The coolest part of the day? We got to watch the Duke vs. UNC game with a bunch of UNC fans at an alumni event in Orlando. Even away from home, watching the game with fellow fans felt like we were back in Chapel Hill. There was lots of cheering, and a little bit of anger at refs, but it was a great game. This event was a fun way to kick off our trip. Plus, who doesn’t love beating your school’s rival on the first day of the trip.
